Critical Infrastructure Improvement Projects

Sea Pines Drive Infrastructure Improvement Project: South Sea Pines Drive from Merganser Court to the end of South Sea Pines Drive (stopping at the entrance of Lands End). Pictured: Traffic island being installed to improve pedestrian safety on South Sea Pines Drive.

  • Major stormwater drainage and roadway work is in progress and will continue for the next few months. Due to the nature of major infrastructure construction work, planned and unplanned water or utility outages in the work zone may occur.
  • Single-lane road closures and flagging operations will be in place daily.
  • Motorists should expect traffic delays and possible traffic detours.
  • Please use caution while driving in this area and observe the work zone speed limit of 15 mph and obey all traffic management personnel, signage and devices.
  • Leisure trails in the project area will be closed as needed. For safety, cyclists will be required to dismount and walk bikes around the active work zones. Motorists should be prepared to share the Road with bikers and pedestrians.

Lighthouse Lane Infrastructure Improvement Project: Lighthouse Lane from Lighthouse Road to Mizzenmast Lane.

  • Major construction activity for curb and sidewalk restoration is underway (pictured).
  • Asphalt milling and temporary roadway paving repairs will begin next week.
  • Single-lane road closures continue to be in place. Motorists should expect traffic delays Monday-Friday.

Maintenance Projects & Services

Stormwater Repair: A stormwater drainage pipe repair at Beachwalk #40, located between Whistling Swan Road and Spotted Sandpiper Road, is in progress and will continue through next week. The beachwalk will remain open, but we ask that pedestrians use extreme caution.

Beachwalk Maintenance: Next week, we we will begin to fill in the edges of beachwalks with dirt, where needed.

Landscaping Around Your Home

The Sea Pines Community Standards Rules and Regulations for Residential Properties states that, “Landscaping must be high enough to cover 50% of the structures foundation and must be covered by plant material that is at least to the first-floor siding.” Thoughtful landscaping in this area not only boosts curb appeal but can also provide practical benefits like protection from the elements and increased energy efficiency. Incorporating a mix of shrubs, perennial flowers, and ornamental grasses that complement your home’s architectural style will bring vibrant texture and color throughout the year.
