SPCSA Community Update 1.9.25

Martin Luther King, Jr. Remembrance Day Office Hours for the Sea Pines CSA Administration, Community Center, Maintenance Office and Sea Pines ARB Office:

  • Friday, January 17 – Closing at 2:00 PM
  • Monday, January 20 – Closed

All other Sea Pines CSA offices will remain open under normal hours of operation.


Sea Pines CSA Annual Assessment Payment Due 1/10

Reminder: 2025 Annual Assessment payments are due tomorrow, FRIDAY, JANUARY 10TH. Please note that payments received after this date will be subject to late fees and interest charges. We extend our sincere appreciation to all property owners who have made their payments on time. If you are enrolled in auto pay but have also made a payment via credit card or check, a reimbursement will be processed for you. Critical Infrastructure Improvement Projects

Lighthouse Lane Infrastructure Improvement Project: Lighthouse Lane from Lighthouse Road to Mizzenmast Lane.

  • Roadway milling and paving operations have been scheduled to begin Monday, January 13, and will continue through Wednesday, January 15, weather permitting. Project work will begin at the intersection of Lighthouse Road and Lighthouse Lane. Expect heavy traffic delays and detours in this area.
Sea Pines Drive Infrastructure Improvement Project: South Sea Pines Drive from Merganser Court to the end of South Sea Pines Drive (stopping at the entrance of Lands End).

  • Major stormwater drainage along South Sea Pines Drive was completed this week. Roadway and leisure trail construction continues with single-lane road closures, leisure trail closures, and flagging operations in place.

Greenwood Drive Survey Work: Survey work along Greenwood Drive, from Plantation Drive to South Sea Pines Drive, began this week. Weather permitting, project work will take 4-5 more weeks to complete. Surveyors will be present along the roadway, utilizing survey ribbons to document trees, vegetation, and utility lines. Additionally, survey flags will be placed along the road right-of-way, property boundary lines, CSA open space, and easements. Please do not remove any staking or utility markings.


Maintenance Projects & Services
  • Live Christmas Tree Recycling Information: Sea Pines property owners may recycle their live (non-artificial) Christmas trees by dropping them off in the Sea Pines CSA neighborhood debris pickup locations through January 13th. Please make sure all ornaments, lights, and other decorations are removed from the trees prior to recycling them.
  • Roadside Maintenance: Roadside mulching along Greenwood Drive is in progress and will continue through next week.
  • Tree Care Management: Roadside tree trimming in the Deer Island area is in progress and will continue through next week.
  • Beachwalk Maintenance: Next week, we we will begin to fill in the edges of beachwalks with dirt, where needed.

News from Around the Community

Live Oak Trees Planted from Sea Pines ARB Tree Fund: This week, live oak trees were planted in various places throughout the community. Pictured here is a live oak being planted at the corner of Fox Grape Road. The funds to plant the new trees came from contributions made to the Sea Pines ARB tree fund.

What is the ARB Tree Fund? When a request for tree removal is submitted, the applicant has the option to either plant a new tree or donate to the Sea Pines ARB tree fund.


Beginner Bird Walk: Friday, January 17, from 8:00-10:00 AM

Join Master Naturalists Mary Ellen Blankenship, Jack Coleman and Bob Speare for a two-hour walk through the Forest Preserve to see, hear, and learn about some of the birds who call this amazing habitat their home. This event is free, but you must register HERE for a ticket. There is a limit of 24 people per bird walk.


American Red Cross Community Blood Drive will be held at the Sea Pines Community Center (71 Lighthouse Road) on Thursday, January 16, from 9:30 AM – 01:30 PM. Click here to make an appointment.


Lawton Creek Watershed Study: The Town of Hilton Head Island has contracted with Thomas & Hutton Engineering Co. to conduct field mapping and surveying services as part of a project to develop a comprehensive inventory of the storm drainage infrastructure on the island. Representatives from Thomas & Hutton will be performing this work from January to April of 2025. In Sea Pines, surveying will occur along Greenwood Drive, Plantation Drive, Lighthouse Road, and South Sea Pines Drive.
